"There was no consultation at all. When asked whether HEC consulted the university for USAT, a high official of a public university in Lahore responded, "We are already planning such tests for our admissions." Despite preparing for the GCU pre-admission test, he is unsure whether or not he will take the USAT as well, adding that the ETC would charge separately Rs 1,200 for its test.</div><div><br /></div><div>According to Dr Iftikhar, chief executive officer of ETC, the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) is not mandatory. It was up to universities whether they wanted to adopt this test or not. This will help Pakistani engineering students to get a job in any country in the world without having to pass equivalence tests or undertaking any other exams.</span></div>

Around 275,000 students were enrolled with female representation at a poor 32%.<br /><br />On contrast, now there are 188 universities in Pakistan right now and around 1.3 to 1.4 million students are enrolled. If students in affiliated colleges and universities are added to the equation, the number rises to well above 3 million.</span><div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">According to <a href="http://dailytimes.com.pk/islamabad/21-Dec-16/hec-bans-nts-exam-for-admissions-scholarships?utm_campaign=shareaholic&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=socialnetwork">Daily Times</a>, Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned all the Pakistani recognized universities not to approach the NTS for conducting tests for admissions and scholarships.<br /><br />The universities have been asked to conduct the Education Testing Service (ETC)for conducting tests for admissions and student scholarships.<br /><br />ETC (Education Testing Service) is a testing service launched by the HEC and will be functioning from next year – 2017. </span></div>

This would be a great motivation for all students<br /><br />Initially the council would conduct the test for undergraduate students and later for MS and PhD admissions as well”, Dr.Ahmed.</span></div>
