Rector of Virtual University Pakistan [Update]

President of Pakistan Arif Alvi on Friday 26 February 2021 has appointed Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti as Rector of Virtual University Pakistan. The President Arif Alvi has conducted detailed interviews of the three candidates in the panel (included Dr Nasir Mahmood and Dr Muhammad Bilal Khan) proposed by the university’s Board of Governors, the President House said.

“On recommendations of the Board of Governors and after interview, the appointment was made on merit,” the President House said.

President Arif Alvi said Virtual University is playing an important role in promotion of affordable and quality education in the country.

Through Virtual University, he said, the students after 12th grade could get education from any part of the country on an affordable fee structure.

Biography of Dr Arshad Saleem Bhatti:

Prof. Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Science, has more than 24 years of teaching and research experience. He is a semiconductor physicist by training and recently working in synthesis and application of nanostructures for sensor applications. He established state of the art device fabrication facilities.
